COMMUNITY CLIMATE INITIATIVES
REPAIR CAFE
Join the ‘Right to Repair’ movement at the Repair Café, second Saturday of each month from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.at the Owen Sound North Grey Union Public Library.
For over a year, skilled volunteers have been eager to fix your broken items for free, from clothing to household items. Enjoy refreshments, connect with your community, and save money while keeping items out of landfills.
Have skills to share? Whether it’s sewing, electronics, small furniture and appliances or bike repairs, your expertise is welcomed. Email GBOSRepairCafe@gmail.com to get involved.
Embrace the opportunity to reduce waste, revitalize belongings, and make a positive impact—one repair at a time. This is a Georgian Bluffs Climate Action Team and Owen Sound & North Grey Library Partnership!

ADVOCACY AND POLICY SUPPORT
Engage with local government and stakeholders to promote policies that support climate action. We work to ensure that community voices are heard in decision-making processes.
GET INFORMED FOR THE MUNICIPAL ELECTION
Earlier in September, the co-chairs of GBCAT, Danuta Valleau and Jenny Carver, wrote a letter
to all nine of the contestants running for Georgian Bluffs Council this year. The letter, asked the
contestants to provide their view on three potential Municipal policies relating to Climate Change:
These are:
1. An annual progress report to Council by the municipality’s Climate Action Specialist on the
implementation of the Climate Plan, Committed to Change, adopted by Council in 2023.
2. Pass a Mitigation Through Electrification resolution.
3. Pass an Adaptation Through Risk Assessment resolution
